From The Amazon To Ireland
Born and raised in the northern region of Brazil, Stephanie Garrigan grew up surrounded by the traditional handmade style of ceramics from the Amazon — Marajoara pottery. She moved to Ireland, where she is currently based, at 19 years of age and discovered her passion for clay and the pottery wheel there for the first time.
Discovering Ceramics
From her love of matcha, a curiosity and admiration for handmade ceramics was born, and she devoted some time to learning and understanding the craft.
Her first collection reflects this curiosity while connecting to what brought her to clay: matcha, coffee, and her own references and interpretations of patterns and shapes in Marajoara pottery.
Work And Devotion
Ever learning and ever curious, Stephanie's style revolves around experimentation with material and form, and a fascination with functional forms.
Devoted to continuing to learn the ways of clay and to being inspired by the things she notices and feels, Stephanie continues to develop her style with every new piece.
